Leading Change for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is a core offering under OSU’s Academic Leadership Academy coordinated by the offices of Faculty Affairs and Human Resources.

Leading Change will prepare academic unit leaders—including deans, school directors and department heads—to effectively:

  • Lead organizational change toward achievement of diversity, equity and inclusion goals;
  • Build coalitions to develop and advance strategic priorities;
  • Facilitate organizational learning at individual, team and systems levels;
  • Respond with care to communities in conflict and crisis.

Leading Change is delivered through both synchronous and asynchronous modes. The seminar is action focused and utilizes active-learning, dialogic, and problem-based instructional strategies to equip institutional leaders with critical knowledge, skills, and attitudes.

The seminar is organized in four modules:

  • Module 1: The Big Picture
    • Integrating strategic plans, institutional metrics, and insights from local and national trends to imagine and mobilize a shared vision for diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Module 2: Leading Change
    • Wielding theories of organizational change and adaptive strategic planning to assess and monitor progress toward inclusive excellence.
  • Module 3: Facilitating Learning
    • Conceptualizing and communicating cultural competence at the organizational level and modeling inclusive and critical educational practices.
  • Module 4: Responding with Care
    • Balancing advocacy and empowerment in response to bias and pursuing justice and restoration for communities in conflict and crisis.

Open applications will be announced via campus-wide email.
