Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Alumni Legacy Award

Established in 2020 in partnership with the OSU Alumni Association, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Alumni Legacy Award recognizes alumni who have demonstrated a deep and abiding commitment to causes of social justice, diversity, equity and inclusion and who exemplify and enrich OSU’s values of community, diversity, respect and social responsibility in their broader community and/or organization.

Selection Criteria Include: 

  • Any alumni of Oregon State University that is not currently an Oregon State University, INTO OSU, OSU Foundation or OSU Alumni Association employee.
  • Demonstration of sustained commitment to the values of diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice.
  • Continuously support and/or activate change within industry, local community and/or OSU community in respect to diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice.
  • Integrity of recipient must be of such high quality as to inspire others to emulate the standards Dr. King’s legacy.

DEFINITIONS

  • Alumni is defined as a former student who took 45 or more credits (two academic years), or a graduate from Oregon State University.

THOSE INELIGIBLE FOR NOMINATION:

  • A candidate or an elected official for any public office.
  • Anyone currently serving as a member of the OSU Board of Trustees, OSU Alumni Board of Directors or OSU Foundation Board of Trustees; and/or an OSU Alumni Association, OSU Foundation, INTO OSU or Oregon State University employee.

Nominations are closed for 2024. Recipients will be announced at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Peace Breakfast on Monday, Jan. 15.
