If you are requesting support for student clubs and organizations, academic departments or other units that are part of Oregon State University, please review these guidelines before submitting your request.
For Recognized Student organizations (RSO)
Official requests from RSOs at Oregon State will need to submit their request as part of their Activity Plan in Ideal-Logic. Please review the guidelines below before making your request.

For timely processing of your funding, please submit your request at least 4 weeks before your event date.

Review of your request by the Office of Institutional Diversity team may take up to 2 weeks.

OID supported programs and events should

Support OSU’s Mission to expand access to higher education, solve problems through research and innovation, and enhance prosperity for every community across the state, and by extension the nation and world.

Align with the Diversity Action Plan’s efforts to achieve equitable success and prosperity for all.

Support academic success for minoritized and underserved students, leading to undergraduate degree completion

Support research efforts with an inclusive excellence lens

Build relationships between groups and communities, providing access to OSU’s resources to all

Build faculty excellence

Build recruitment and retention strategies that are wide-serving and culturally responsive

Funding for Special Events

Must be open at all OSU students
-
A series of connected activities all occurring within a 2-week period shall be considered one event for funding purposes (i.e. conference, awareness weeks, competitions, etc.)

Support for talks, lectures, presentations and events at OSU:

Honoraria

Travel for speaker/presenter

Room rental

Refreshment

Printing and postage

Supplies

Advertising

Faculty/staff/student professional development: travel for professional conferences or research

Expenses NOT allowed with sponsorship funds:

Alcohol
-
Activities primarily geared towards Non-OSU Students or Employees (less than half of the anticipated participants are OSU Students or Employees)

Clothing or accessories that will become personal property of an individual

Gifts or prizes

Recruitment activities and general meetings

Funding is limited, and is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Each organization may be funded for one event per year.

Funding support is not guaranteed. Final allocation amount will be determined during department review.

Promotion and Advertising
- Organization must publish the event on the OSU Events Calendar with event topic Diversity/Equity/Inclusion
- Include the Office of Institutional Diversity as a sponsor of the event
- Tag @osudiversity in social media posts related to the event.
