The nationally acclaimed artist, Alfredo Arreguin, has generously donated a poster for OSU’s Committed to Diversity (C2D) Task Force.

A major force in the Pattern and Decoration movement, this Northwest artist is noted for his intricate and brilliantly colored canvases that pulse with life.

Alfredo Arreguin's early life in Mexico, his journey to the United States during his formative years, and his eventual coming of age as an artist in this country have all combined to influence the artist's perspective on life and the world. Many of the elements that inform his paintings and give them a distinct character emanate from the memories of the culture and natural landscape of his ancestral home. These elements overlap and blend, in dreamlike fashion, with his most immediate experiences and his interest in the environment and the animals of the Pacific Northwest.

Alfredo is considered one of the most influential Latino artist in America, today, and he has an exhibit that will be opening in the Smithsonian Institute in February 2007.

OSU C2D Fund Raising Poster Series

The poster series is a fund raising project of Oregon State University’s Committed to Diversity (C2D) Task Force that will feature a different artist each year. The funds which are raised from this project will be used to fund diversity-related initiatives at OSU.

The posters sell for $50. To order a poster, contact the OSU Office of Community and Diversity at (541) 737-4381.
